Eric Helms, one of New York City’s true juicing pioneers, co-founded Healing Cooler after seeing his customers respond to the restorative power of juices.
Eric launched his first juice bar, Juice Generation, in Manhattan’s Hell’s Kitchen in 1999. He was fueled by a bold mission: To help New Yorkers of all lifestyles and ages discover the energizing and beauty-boosting benefits of nature’s most nutritious liquid foods.
Eric has been sending fresh pressed juiced to his family and friends for years. “I brought fruit juice to my sister in the hospital, after she gave birth to her son,” he says. “When my mom was battling cancer, I sent her nutrient-loaded green juices. It really is the most nurturing gift I can think of.”
“I also sent juices to friends just to let them know I was thinking of them,” he says.
The enthusiastic response of friend and fellow juicing devotee, Salma Hayek, inspired the idea of offering fresh juices as an alternative to sending flowers, chocolates, or wine-and-cheese gift baskets. For Salma and Eric, the team behind the successful juice detox delivery service, Cooler Cleanse, the decision to bring the joy of juice to a larger audience seemed like a natural next step.
“These pressed juices are a true gourmet treat–they put a smile on anyone’s face,” says Salma.
When you give a Healing Cooler, you send a treasure chest of fresh pressed health and happiness direct to someone’s door.
Healing Cooler is based in New York City. They deliver locally and nationally.
